ABOUT BEN
After 17 years working as an internationally renowned performer Ben Wright now works primarily as an independent choreographer within contemporary dance, Opera and Theatre. Recent choreographic work includes Thought latching to thought and pulling, passing strange and wonderful and small acts for his own company bgroup, collaborations with Rachel Krische and US artist Allyson Green for Danspace NYC and commissions for EDge and Transitions dance companies.  He has choreographed the full-length operas Midsummer Night's Dream and Romeo and Juliette for Opera North; Macbeth, Dead Man Walking and Faust for Malmo Opera; and Don Giovanni for Scottish Opera among others.  Ben's theatre work includes As You Like It at Wyndhams Theatre and Tobias and Angel at The Young Vic while his film work includes Terje Vigen with Arts Alliance and The National Theatre and An evening with Adrienne at The Drill Hall and the Traverse Theatre Edinburgh.

As a performer Ben has recently been developing new work with Jonathan Lunn and Frantic Assembly.  In 2006, he toured the US with Stan Won't Dance's two-man play Sinner. He has also worked for Adventures in Motion Pictures, Ricochet, London Contemporary Dance Theatre, Richard Alston and Amanda Miller's Company Pretty Ugly. Ben created the part of the Golden Monkey in the original production of His Dark Material's at The National Theatre.

ABOUT THE WORK
It will be part solo,  part short film part and part video diary.  A crescendo from a blank stage to a fully staged number.

WHERE YOU'VE SEEN HIM BEFORE
Ben was commissioned to create Thought latching to thought and pulling for the 2006 Place Prize.  In 1995, he co-created the role of the Prince in Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake performing the role throughout the UK, Japan and Korea as well as in the West End and on Broadway. He launched his new company bgroup with a triple bill including Thought latching to thought and pullingat The Place in May as part of Spring Loaded.
