UK Premiere + Post Show Q&A with Donald Hutera on Fri 15
The End Is Near unmasks the many guises of the modern day hero in a witty new show from BLOOM! that’s equal parts profound and trashy. What’s the line between human and superhuman and what does all this have to do with dance?
BLOOM! has been working on its latest show between countries, between languages and between egos to create The End Is Near. Playfully shifting between characters and performers, the real and fantasy, it uses only organically sourced ingredients. New. Better. Tastier. May contain traces of nuts.
Founded in November 2009, international collective Bloom! core members are choreographers Viktória Dányi, Csaba Molnár, Moreno Solinas (Work Place Artist), Igor Urzelai (Work Place Artist), composer Alberto Ruiz Soler and manager Anikó Rácz.
The collective is based both in London and Budapest. Guest artists Jamila Johnson-Small and Tamara Zsófia Vadas joined BLOOM! for the creation of The End Is Near.
Commissioned by The Place. Supported by Arts Council England, Open Latitudes, The Place, Yorkshire Dance, Workspace Brussels, Escalator Dance, the National Cultural Fund of Hungary (NKA), and SIN Cultural Centre (Budapest).
