These fun and informal classes are for students who have had some previous experience in contemporary dance. Level 1 is suitable for those who hold a basic understanding of the techniques involved but would like to develop their skills. These classes strive to build confidence, improve technique and increase participants dance vocabulary under the guidance of expert teachers. Please note Level 1 is NOT for complete beginners.
This class will be Graham-based.
Genevieve Grady is an independent dancer, choreographer and teacher, she teaches Graham-based technique on the BA programme at Laban. She has performed throughout Canada, the US and Europe, including aerial, film and site-specific projects, fusion and classical roles with Menaka Thakkar and Ritmo Flamenco, and international performances of 3 solos by the choreographer Deborah Hay.
Bookings are now being taken for the Spring term Sat 7 January - Fri 23 March. You can also attend the class by using your Carnet Card or by dropping in.
Full price term enrolment is £99. If you qualify for the concession rate (£85 per term), bring proof of status to the Classes and Courses office when you attend class at The Place and we will refund the difference.
