In 2005 The Place launched Dance Futures, a programme dedicated to developing ‘dancers of the future’.
Each Saturday young dancers recognised for their exceptional talent and potential attend a contemporary and choreographic class, with gifted children from across the capital. These sessions are led by cutting edge teachers and choreographers who challenge students technically and creatively in order to equip them with the skills necessary to progress on to intensive pre-vocational dance training, should they choose to do so.
Dance Futures is supported by the John Lyon's Charity and currently supports the training of 27 students between 9-13 years of age. Acceptance on to the programme is by invitation only; anyone interested in being considered should contact the Saturday Programme Administration Team and request an audition.
The Place works in collaboration with Chance to Dance (Royal Opera House’s Education Department initiative) in order to identify and support London’s young dancers.
