Hurricane 08

Following five years of success The Place is proud to welcome this year's Hurricane Boys' Project. Once again this week-long intensive programme will be led by accomplished teacher/choreographer Greig Cooke. All boys aged 10-14 with a real enthusiasm for dance are encouraged to join the Project - no formal training is necessary as long as you have the right attitude!  Places are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to all applicants - no audition is necessary.

Hurricane 07 was the fifth project that saw the boys working with dance artist Greig Cooke on a highly energetic movement piece inspired by skating and body percussion ideas. Also guest artist Temujin Gill taught workshops during the week, which culminated in a successful sharing on Friday 27 July. Previous years have also involved photographers and film-makers as well, developing an interactive multi-media experience.

Please note that all participants will be expected to stay for an informal performance of the work created during the week on Friday 1st August at 3.30pm.  Family and friends will be welcome to attend this sharing.
