Truly reflecting the breadth of the industry and talent in international dance, EDge will be touring the UK and Europe with new work from a selection of World-Class Choreographers, whilst working on several additional cutting-edge projects with leading UK based artists.

The touring programme will feature a new piece of work from Retina Dance’s Filip van Huffel, the internationally renowned Jonathan Lunn and a selection of short works from promising new choreographic talent. These commissioned choreographers will be Martin Forsberg, Rachel Krische, Petra Soor and Beth Cassani. An original piece of dance film will be made by Gabriela Tropia and performed at selected venues.

EDge 08 will also be collaborating with Jonathan Lunn for Reading Room, a piece of cross-discipline work which will incorporate text which has been written by Anthony Minghella and will be performed by Juliet Stevenson. The dance element of this show, will be choreographed on and performed by EDge at selected venues on the Spring tour of Reading Room.

Rosemary Butcher is working with EDge as the third major choreographer, along side the tour pieces. Her work will be an in-depth process investigating the creative tools and pathways of the dancers. The result of this work is not expected to be part of the touring repertoire and instead takes the form of a site specific piece or festival sharing.
