Practical workshops can be constructed to complement specific student experience and current projects. In addition to individual workshops, the company is available for longer residencies in schools or venues.
Class participants will be able to:
• Influence movement and dance vocabulary through exposure to a variety
of choreographic style and stimuli
• Practice performance skills
• Create their own work
• Analyse their work
• Experience a range of movement techniques in class
• Contrast their creation with the intention of the professional dance work
Classes and workshops are led by a member of the EDge accompanied by the Artistic Director.
All movement material investigated during the workshops will be drawn from the current repertory. Tailor-made sessions will be planned prior to arrival, in collaboration with the host school or college. EDge is currently unable to offer workshops for disabled groups.
Some experience of contemporary dance is preferred. Target groups are normally students currently being taught at key stage 3 ( 11-14) and key stage 4 (14-16) as well as A-Level and BTEC students.
