Everyone at The Place was immensely saddened to learn of the sudden death of Rick Holgate at the age of 41.
Ricky trained at London Contemporary Dance School, graduating in 1988, and went on to dance with distinction for Phoenix Dance Theatre, with whom he retained a close association. After leaving Phoenix in 1998, he retrained and worked as an IT developer and consultant. He was formerly married to Dawn Holgate, a fellow dancer with Phoenix, and leaves two children.
We extend our sympathy to all of Rick’s family, friends and fellow dance artists.
There will be a service to remember Rick at Holy Rosary Church, Chapeltown Road, Leeds from 11.30am - 12pm on Thursday 26 November, followed by a short cremation service for close friends and family only at Lawnswood Cemetery.
Anyone who knew Rick is invited to attend the service at Holy Rosary Church and then join the family for refreshments at Seven Arts Centre, 31 Harrogate Road, Chapel Allerton, Leeds, LS7 3PD from 12 - 3pm.
