Launched in 2008, ChoreoRoam is a pioneering model for professional research and development that connects choreographers from across Europe through a programme of shared learning and exchange.  It enables artists to develop new ideas and practices, gain deeper insights into different dance ecologies and build professional networks.

ChoreoRoam 2010 continues for the second year as a joint venture between founding partners The Place in London, Operaestate Festival Veneto in Italy, Dansateliers in the Netherlands and also new partners Dansescenen in Denmark, Zagreb Dance Center in Croatia and Certamen Coreografic de Madrid in Spain.

ChoreoRoam is proving to be a highly unique international research and development project, striving to bring choreographers out of the isolation they tend to work within; often leading to the creation of long term professional relationships and collaborations between artists across the continent.

Over the course of 2010, nine choreographers will travel to each of the six host countries to participate in workshops, choreographic residencies, debates and festivals designed to stimulate cross-cultural dialogue and interaction. The choreographers involved have been selected on the basis of both their creative track record and their ability to make a unique contribution to the ChoreoRoam network. This year they are Adam Linder and Vera Tussing from the UK, Francesca Foscarini and Giuliana Urciuoli from Italy, Mor Shani from the Netherlands, Pontus Pettersson and Klara Elenius from Denmark, Sonja Pregrad from Croatia and Juan Luis Matilla from Spain. The six partner organisations will contribute resources in the form of studio and theatre space, equipment, staff support and accommodation.

This year ChoreoRoam was made possible thanks to support from the British Council.
