Amie was born in Kent and began her dance training in Botswana, Southern Africa. Amie trained at London Contemporary Dance School. Her undergraduate project was with Hofesh Shechter. For her MA she wrote an A-level study guide for Red Run choreographed by Richard Alston and served a one year postgraduate apprenticeship with the Richard Alston Dance Company. Amie became a full-time dancer with Richard Alston Dance Company in 2006.
