The Place Prize has been named as Best New Event in the awards which were announced in Time Out magazine on 22 February 2006.

Time Out describes The Place Prize as "a major new event on the dance scene. [The Place Prize's] focus on cutting-edge choreography will continue to play an important role in the growth of dance awareness in London."
