Wally Cardona is a dancemaker based in New York City, creating works for his company and others. He also teaches Performance/Phenomenon: Theory and Philosophy into Physical Practice at The New School University and composition at The Juilliard School. The recipient of a John Simon Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship and a New York Dance and Performance (Bessie) Award for the creation of Everywhere, he resides in Brooklyn, New York.
Jamie McCarthy has worked extensively in music dance and theatre. For a number of years he was Head of Music at London Contemporary Dance School, where he still works as a visiting lecturer. He performs with the Canadian Band The Hidden Cameras and his own band Dog of Hearts. (www.myspace.com/jamiesounds and www.myspace.com/dogofhearts). Recent collaborators include Fevered Sleep, Lost Dog, Andrea Buckley, Sue MacLennan, Gabi Reuter, Neat Timothy and Beatrice Gibson on A Taxi Opera (for ten trainee taxi drivers and string quartet).
Rick Nodine
After completing a degree in Biology, Rick went on to study contact improvisation with the pioneers of the form. He began performing in the early 90s and since 1997 he has created 14 choreographic works. He teaches Composition and Improvisation at London Contemporary Dance School and he has given movement direction to productions at The National Theatre and Glyndebourne Opera.
Frauke Requardt is a German choreographer based in London. She completed a MA at London Contemporary Dance School in 2003 and has since been developing dance works that are darkly humoured, surreal and filmic. Lately she collaborated with theatre director Daniel Kramer and presented the resulting work Pictures from an Exhibition at The Young Vic to be performed at Sadler’s Wells in April 2010. Soon the will be embarking on the creation of Electric Hotel together with Shunt director David Rosenberg which takes place in a uniquely designed structure to be viewed from the outside in. Darren Ellis trained at Rambert School (1987-90) .He has danced for many different companies including Random Dance Co, Mathew Bourne, Mark Bruce and most recently Richard Alston Dance Company where he was also Rehearsal Director (2005-07). Darren has choreographed two pieces for his own Company, Darren Ellis Dance (Romeo Error and Good To Go) and for Richard Alston Dance Company Tempt My better Angel and No more Ghosts. In 2008 Darren was invited to be part of the research project Choreoroam at the place, out of which he created sticks and bones, a solo for himself which is currently touring. Darren has also made work for various youth companies, Centre for Advanced Training and intoto dance.
Nicholas Quinn is a dancer/choreographer who since graduating in 2007 from Laban has had wide-ranging experience in a variety of contexts, from working with Xavier Le Roy on a reconstruction of Project as part of ex.er.ce ’08, to more recently collaborating with MIKS. In his spare time he enjoys playing Mikado, making and listening to music and learning Swedish.
Lucy Suggate is a Dance Artist working in the UK and Ireland. Lucy started making her own work in 2003, gained recognition for her unique irreverent style and support from Arts council England. She became an Associate Artist at Yorkshire Dance, 2005-06. Lucy's work Postcard was selected as a finalist for The Place Prize in 2006. In 2007 Lucy joined Daghdha Dance as an artist in residence.
