Taste The Place was a two-day banquet of free dance sessions which marked the beginning of The Place's 40th anniversary year.
From ballet to Bollywood, break dance to ballroom – there were chances to try out almost every imaginable style of dance. The sessions were for young people from age 2 upwards, for parents and children together and for adults, and most were suitable for all, with no experience required.
Taste The Place was part of a celebration of the 40th birthday of The Place, the UK’s premier centre for contemporary dance, and was presented in partnership with Time Out.
Since 1969, dancers from all around the world have brought diverse and styles and influences to The Place, and hundreds of thousands of people have discovered how fun and inspiring dance can be in our studios. Taste The Place was a chance for everyone to get a flavour of all this work in one unique weekend. There were over 50 sessions to choose from, all led by some of the country’s top dancing talents.
