Assessments

Students are assessed by being given the opportunity to show their individual skills and knowledge, and demonstrate their achievement.

A range of assessment methods are used depending on the subject area, including formal assessment classes, continuous assessment, performances, essays and oral presentations.

Assessments are seen as a valuable learning tool, and are chosen to reflect best the nature of the work. Assessments are carefully structured across the programme to help students gauge their progress, test against standards and develop a deeper understanding of their art and craft.

All assessments lead to written and/or verbal feedback and students have access to regular tutorials. With the help of the School, students each keep their own progress files. This allows them to monitor their development and achievements, and encourages them to become reflective, self motivated learners.
