London Contemporary Dance School’s postgraduate department has been running for 16 years, and was the first of its kind offering the Postgraduate Diploma and MA degree to students wishing to pursue practical dance studies as a postgraduate discipline. The Postgraduate Diploma provides students not choosing the full MA with an opportunity to develop their skills at a vocationally relevant level, easing the transition from student to professional dance artist.

The department offers the following specialisms:

The department fosters self-directed learning and individual progress, and provides a fertile educational environment for the creation of self-reflective, independent dance artists who may successfully pursue portfolio careers, or enter mainstream employment as professional dance artists. The courses are informed by the expertise that exists throughout The Place and by an extraordinary level of engagement with visiting professionals - guest teachers, lecturers and choreographers.
