The CAT taster sessions and Auditions for entry 2012-13 will be held during Spring 2012.

Tasters and auditions
Tasters and auditions for 2012-13 will be held on Saturday 11 and Thursday 16 February. 

We normally advise you to try one of our taster sessions first to ensure that the CAT programme is for you. Taster sessions enable applicants to attend practical sessions in ballet and contemporary techniques plus creative tasks. You are invited to attend a presentation and tour of The Place, giving further details on the programme and offering an opportunity for you to ask any questions.

If you cannot attend a taster session, you are still able to make an application to audition for the programme.  Applications will be availabled from 16 February 2012.

How to book
To attend one of our taster sessions you must book a place. 

  • Download the form at the bottom of this page, complete your details fully, save a copy of the form on your computer and attach it to an email and return it to
  • If you require an alternative form please call Vicky Evans on 020 7121 1037 or email to outline your requirements

We are trying to run a paperfree office so please, where possible, send the form back to us electronically. 

The session is free but we ask that, if possible, you make a small donation to our Fund for Excellence.

Please note: in order to attend one of our Taster Sessions you must book and register yourself with the CAT team, we are unable to accommodate anyone who just attends on the day without prior booking.

Fund for Excellence
The CAT management team recognise that whilst every penny of student’s fees is invested in the delivery of the CAT training programme, the fees remain high and can pose a difficult dilemma for many families who have several children and other important financial commitments. 

The Fund for Excellence was set up in 2009 to provide some extra funding for eligible students enrolled on the CAT programme.  Due to the charitable nature of this fund, monies available are dependent on money raised through fundraising and donations therefore, all monies raised from the Taster Days will go directly into the Fund for Excellence
