The programme encompasses a range of vibrant and diverse performances by some of the most cutting-edge UK and international stars, including Gregory Maqoma & State of Emergency, Hannah Gillgren and Heidi Rustgaard's h2dance, Maresa Von Stockert's Tilted Productions, Luca Silverstrini's Protein, and Scottish Dance Theatre.

The Place's co-production with Sadler's Wells and Company of Angels, U Review, will bring audience participation to a new level, making the post-performance feedback central in the development of two new pieces by emerging choreographers Robin Dingemans and Zoi Dimitriou (Wed 23 Feb). This brand new half-term event is set to create a platform for 8 - 11-year-old children and parents to learn about each other's reactions to live performance.

Audience experience is also fundamental in h2dance's production, Say Something, an interactive journey between dance and music, which uses choirs, as well as dancers, to investigate conformism and freedom of expression (Sat 26 Feb). Gregory Maqoma and State of Emergency's piece, Desert Crossings, explores the geographic similarities between England's dramatic South West Jurassic Coast and the Skeleton Coast of Namibia (Tue 1 Mar), whilst Maresa Von Stockert's Masquerade for Tilted Productions pays homage to Surrealism's dreamlike world (Thu 3 & Fri 4 Mar).

Double Take by Tavaziva Dance investigates the impact of black dance on contemporary performance (Tue 8 Mar), before Luca Silvestrini's award-winning Protein returns (Thu 10 to Sat 12 Mar) with a timely piece on the effect that social networking e-reality has had on human relationships in LOL (lots of love). This provocative and engaging show is commissioned by The Place, Dance East and Greenwich Dance and supported by South Park Hill Arts Centre, Bracknell.

Reel Lives is a video-homage of career-defining inspirational moments in the history of dance, selected by Janet Smith (Director, Scottish Dance Theatre) and Company, across a range of video productions (Wed 16 Mar). Celebrating their 25th anniversary of creative production, Scottish Dance Theatre returns to The Place with two new works in Letters from America, by internationally renowned American choreographers Kate Weare and Benjamin Levy. (Fri 18 & Sat 19 Mar).

London Contemporary Dance School (LCDS) rounds off the 2011 February and March season with new works by EDge and MA choreography courses (Wed 23 & Thu 24 Mar), followed by Collaborations, (Mon 28 to Thu 31 Mar), the annual series run jointly by LCDS with Wimbledon College of Art and Guildhall School of Music.
