Higher Education Maintenance Grants

From 2006, the fees paid by students at UK universities and higher education institutions will change and students will be expected to contribute up to £3,145 per year towards their fees. UK-resident students will be eligible for financial support both from the government and the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama in the form of non-repayable brsaries and grants. The Conservatoire also provides some bursaries to EU students.

Higher Education Maintenance Grants

From 2006, new full-time undergraduate students from lower income households will be eligible for a non-repayable maintenance grant from the government of up to £2,975 a year.

How much you will get will depend on your household income. If that income is around £25,000 or less you are likely to be eligible for a full grant worth £2,830 - 2,974 and partial grants are likely to be available for those with a household income of between around £25,000 and around £60,000. Grants are payable in three instalments. Bursaries from the Conservatoire are additional to any grants received.

For information about the Maintenance Grants and your eligibility, you should contact your Local Education Authority (LEA). You can also get information about the scheme by going on-line at
