Richard Alston Dance Company (RADC) begins a 15-theatre UK tour at the Wyvern Theatre, Swindon, on Tuesday 8 February.

The tour, totalling 23 performances plus an extensive programme of outreach activities, finishes at the New Victoria Theatre, Woking, on Tuesday 7 June.

Theatre repertoires include a revival of ROUGHCUT, made on Rambert Dance Company in 1990, when Richard Alston was artistic director of that company, and first performed by RADC in 1999. One of Alston's best-loved signature pieces, it is danced to Steve Reich's New York and Electric Counterpoints (for clarinet and guitar).

Also being performed: Alston's OUT OF THE STRONG (2010, music Sergei Prokofiev), previous working title Even More; LIGHT FLOODING INTO DARKENED ROOMS (1997, Denis Gaultier/Jo Kondo); SHUFFLE IT RIGHT (2008, Hoagy Carmichael); and OVERDRIVE (2003, Terry Riley).  Also included is Martin Lawrance's LIE OF THE LAND (2010, Ned Rorem).

Based at The Place in London, the UK's premier centre for contemporary dance, Richard Alston Dance Company is one of the country's most popular and successful companies, touring nationally and internationally each year.
