From 19 – 21 October, The Bloomsbury Festival will host a variety of events and activities from the area’s contemporary creative organisations.
Following the success of last year (see a trailer here), the 2007 Bloomsbury Festival will offer a superb programme packed with music, dance, theatre, film, photography, literature and debate.
The Place Learning and Access department is organising an extensive programme of performances at the Brunswick Centre over the three-day period. BA second and third years and one year certificate students will perform new work by Giuliana Majo and Katie Green on Saturday 20 October. The site specific work will be created especially for the Brunswick Centre space. In addition, participants of The Water Project are working on a piece with Alex Broadie, also to be shown on Saturday.
The three brand new Shift Junior Associates will perform their choreographic debut, based on the theme of mannequins, in the shop window of Joy on Sunday 21 October. A project led by Katy Pendlebury, involving primary school children from St George’s and their parents will be presented on Sunday, as will a new piece presented by JDC under the instruction of Emma Adams and Rob Mennear.
Friday’s programme will contain snippets of all of The Place’s best work for the weekend, as well as a special collaboration between SnakeOil (Benedict Johnson and David McCormick) and spectacular aerial company Scarabeus (to be repeated on Saturday).
