The Place Circle has been created to help The Place in its continuing drive to deliver the best and most exciting environment for the artist, students, audiences and enthusiasts of contemporary dance. By joining The Place Circle, you will be providing vital financial support for these activities, and participating in a network of supporters sharing in our vibrant creative community.

We’ll invite you and a guest to experience our passion for dance through a series of six unique events a year, each one specially curated by some of the most celebrated people in the industry, for an annual payment of £1000. Over time, the events will create an unequalled insight into the process of making dance and developing dance artists, as well as offering the opportunity to meet these artists and other dance enthusiasts.

The following events will be hosted exclusively for Place Circle members in 2007.

As a member of the Circle, you will also be invited to other dance events at The Place throughout the course of the year.

An Evening with Richard Alston   
Monday 19 February
6.30 – 8.30pm
The internationally renowned choreographer will talk about, and with his Company show a short extract from, his latest work ahead of its imminent performance at Sadler’s Wells in March. The new piece will be performed to some of Bach’s sublime keyboard pieces, including the remarkable Capriccio, which presents a picture of Bach’s brother leaving on a journey, and the sorrow felt by the composer.

London Contemporary Dance School

See behind the scenes of the prestigious London Contemporary Dance School and witness third year students preparing their repertory pieces in the lead up to their final assessment.

Hofesh Schechter at Sadler’s Wells
Thursday 27 September
9.30 - 10.30pm
An intimate post-performance talk with Hofesh Shechter, one of the brightest new stars of the British dance scene and Associate Artist at The Place.
Hofesh will be talking about his new work In Your Rooms.

A chance to see the stylish postgraduate performance company of the London Contemporary Dance School working in the studio on their new programme for 2008.
