Accessibility: performances and talks

The Place is striving to make more of its work accessible to people with a disability. Our building is fully wheelchair accessible and our brochure and programmes are available in large print upon request.

The Place is offering an increasing number of accessible performances and talks including:

All on site performances and talks are accessible to:

  • wheelchair users: In standard set up, the theatre has a range of seating options including four wheelchair spaces which are all are accessible via the lift. We also have step free access both upstairs and at stage level.
  • hearing aid wearers: the theatre has a Sennheiser induction loop system with pre bookable head sets. These amplify the sound through ear pieces with volume control or neck bands, which transfer the amplified signal to your hearing aid when switched to the T position.

If you have any access requirements or suggestions for how we can improve this aspect of our work, please call the box office on 020 7121 1100 or send us an email.

The Place is working with Wiener Tanzwochen (Vienna, Austria), Kaaitheater (Brussels, Belgium) and Centre National de la Danse (Paris, France) on a project called The Humane Body to explore new ways of making contemporary dance for blind and visually impared audiences.
