Hope Hunt & The Ascension into Lazarus by Oona Doherty has won the Total Theatre & The Place Award for Dance. The award was presented at the Total Theatre Awards ceremony held at Out of the Blue Drill Hall on Thursday 24 August 2017, and was accepted by producer Una NicEoin on behalf of the artist, and by Bush Hartshorn on behalf of Dance Base. We're delighted to support this award for the third year running which is all about recognising exceptional artists who are creating bold, risk-taking and visionary work that is diverse, inclusive and accessible.
Hope Hunt & The Ascension into Lazarus was nominated alongside four other dance shows; Arab Arts Focus: Dance Double Bill by Shaymaa Shoukry / Yazan Iwidat at Summerhall, Dollhouse by Bill Coleman & Gordon Monahan at DanceBase, Out by Rachael Young created with Dwayne Antony at Underbelly and Taiwan Season: Together Alone Chen-Wei Lee x Art B&B at DanceBase.
Coming to our theatre in October is Snigel and Friends by Caroline Bowditch and Company which was nominated for the Total Theatre Award for Physical / Visual Theatre, which went to Sigma by Gandini Juggling at Assembly.
