These fun and informative classes are for students who hold a basic understanding in contemporary or ballet and would like to develop their skills; building confidence, improving technique and increasing dance vocabulary.
Victor's class begins with exercises that focus on body awareness and progresses on to dynamic sequences that take dancers on a journey of movement research. Drawing upon influences from release-based techniques, floor work and somatic practices, dancers are encouraged to explore efficiency in movement through the use of momentum and weight. Imagery is often used to further explore expressivity and nuanced qualities of the performative body.
Please note that this class is not suitable for complete beginners. Students should have some experience in contemporary dance or other dance forms.
Victor Fung graduated from Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, University of California, Santa Barbara and completed his MA in Choreography at London Contemporary Dance School for which he was awarded a merit.
