"Narratives are never linear. Time stops and starts, but from a different point. Confusing? Yes. Exhilarating? Absolutely. Tame? No way!" Culture Whisper
Godmother, Birth mother, Working mother, Earth mother, Mother-tongue, Motherland, Mothercare(TM), MILF. Frauke Requardt (a mother) dunks you in the mess.
Mothers is a dance across sticky surfaces with slippery bodies. Time is interrupted (MUMMY!) time drags on (AGAIN! AGAIN!) .
This is relentless, this is ferocious, this is euphoric. This is tiny and tender.
Frauke has been making odd, dark and chaotic work for over ten years. In this new performance she is joined by Neil Callaghan and Jacob Ingram-Dodd for the mother lode of the mother of all Mothers for everyone… and their mother.
10.30am complimentary tea and coffee
12-3pm stay after the show for a relaxing afternoon with your baby in our theatre bar. Enjoy some refreshments and experience the Stroller Coaster (by the Bureau of Silly Ideas) a brilliant and totally bonkers installation experience for your baby.
We have programmed a performance earlier in the day for parents who might find it hard to come out in the evening. You can come with your child or without. Please bear in mind that this is not a show for children and there is some nudity and adult themes. Think of it as a bit like a baby cinema experience but with a theatre show instead of a film. The show will have gentler lighting and sound. We recommend that children are 12 months or under but it's at the parent / carer's discretion if you would like to bring an older child.
Please call the box office on 020 7121 1100 if you have any questions about this show.
Age recommendation 16+
Stay after the show on Wed 31 May for a discussion with Frauke and the company
