Mon 24 - Fri 28 Jul 2017
Dates: Mon 24 - Fri 28 Jul 2017
Want to do something different this summer? Add some colour, spice, movement and music to your holidays. Join The Place, one of Europe’s most exciting and innovative dance spaces and The British Library for summer dance courses and workshops as we explore the UK year of Indian Culture 2017.
Sample the techniques of Indian and contemporary dance, develop your skills and master your creativity with our encouraging and imaginative team of teachers and musicians.
Please note: for older participants we are able to offer an end of week sharing in The British Library on Fri 28 Jul, in the afternoon. This sharing is not ticketed. It will only happen once so please ensure that you arrive early. Strictly no filming or photography permitted.
The deadline to book your space on any of our Summer Dance Courses for Young People is Thu Jul 20, 6pm
• There are no auditions - all we need from participants is enthusiasm!
• We dance bare foot and ask that you wear comfortable clothes you can move in
• We have water fountains so do bring a bottle.
• Whoever books the course will receive a welcome email before the course starts with all the information you need. If you do not receive this by Thu 20 Jul, please do give us a call.
The Place strives to make dance accessible to all young people so please be aware that we can offer a means–tested bursary. The Iris Tomlinson award can help towards any of our class or course fees and is open to anyone who needs it. You can download the application form below. The application deadline is Thu 20 Jul.
