Yoga Asana practice is a moving meditation. It is a way of releasing and staying connected with one’s own body, giving it attention, allowing it to express itself fully, to test its boundaries, to realise its weaknesses, to let it breathe, to move and be present in this experience.
Anna Nowak teaches dynamic Vinyasa classes, designed to take the body through a series of physically involving postures allowing the stagnant energy to flow. She emphasises the rhythm of sequencing and the technique of building up the heat by connecting the breath with movement. This helps to build strength and flexibility before integrating and grounding towards the end of the practice. Anna invites her students to play on the edge and explore their flow with a correct alignment and curiosity.
Anna draws from her own experience, knowing exactly what is it that dancers need in order to improve their technique and to engage their mind in the long rehearsal days. Understanding the motion from within, working on extended muscles, allowing the joints to fall to the correct alignment and doing so with mindfulness and concentration are among others skills one can take out from this course.
This course will run from Mon 14 – Fri 18 August, 10–11.30am each day. The course fee of £65 covers all 5 classes.
