Hannah trained in ballet, tap, modern and jazz from an early age and went on to gain a BPA in Contemporary Dance at Northern School of Contemporary Dance. During this time she worked with choreographers Deborah Johnson, Alexander Whitley, Jonathan Goddard and Jennifer-Lynn Crawford, while also taking part in a national tour with Rita Marcalo.
When or how did you catch the dance bug?
Me and my family had gone to see a panto one Christmas when I was about 8. I was completely transfixed by the dancers and after the show I nagged my mum for ages for dance classes until she signed me up.
What was the first piece of live dance you watched?
I don't remember the first piece of live dance I saw but I do remember it was watching Jasmin Vardimon's 'Yesterday' that introduced me to the world of Contemporary Dance and made me what to pursue vocational training.
Are you ever worried about forgetting a move or sequence before a performance?
Always! No matter how well rehearsed or how many times I might have performed the piece, I always have to have a quick mental run through of the choreography before I go on stage.
What do you keep in your dance bag?
Far too much stuff. I seem to pack for every eventuality...scissors, plasters, spare socks, painkillers, and usually the morning paper.
What kind of snacks do you eat to keep you going through the day?
Bananas, chocolate and cereal bars are always good for boosting energy levels.
How do you unwind after a day of dancing?
After a particularly hard day you'll find me in my Pjs, cooking a nice dinner and then watching TV or a good old chick flick.
If you were not a dancer what do you think you might be doing?
I love baking and still imagine opening my own bakery one day. But I also love reading and literature so perhaps I would have done something involving writing.
What is on your favourite playlist?
'Hey Ya' by Outkast and 'Send Me On My Way' by Rusted Root always but me in a positive mood.
I'm surprisingly bad at... Languages and accents - as the international members of the company frequently point out!
I'm surprisingly good at... Bargain hunting! I love finding great deals.
