Call out for writers to take part in Resolution Review 2019

Do you write about dance? Are you looking for somewhere to have your reviews published?

Resolution is the UK’s biggest dance festival for emerging artists running from Friday 11 January – Saturday 23 February at The Place in central London. Resolution Review offers non-professional writers with a love for dance and live performance the chance to see and review three new works per night, be mentored by professional dance writers and have their reviews published alongside the professional’s review on The Place’s blog.

This edition marks 30 years of Resolution artists testing the limits of performance through bold ideas and movement in triple-bills across 27 nights. So we believe it is time to also test the limits of traditional reviewing and welcome different formats – blogging, podcasts, videos, tweets.

Writers must be able to commit to a minimum of three nights across the festival. Previous participants in this programme have gone on to be regular writers for publications including The Stage, Time Out, London Dance, Exeunt, Dance Tabs, and Dancing Times and several have set up their own successful blogs.

We are now recruiting reviewers for Resolution 2019. You don't need to be a technical dance expert. We're simply looking for excellent writers who can communicate their responses honestly and in a way that makes people want to read, watch, listen and get engaged. The successful applicants will be mentored by our team of professionals and will have access to a seminar providing opportunities to ask questions around current working practices.
