Our visit to the Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD) was absolutely brilliant and everyone enjoyed it. We arrived there at 10.00am and we took part in their morning technique classes which was the best way to meet the students and get to know them.
Then three different workshops followed where all the 3rd years participated. The environment was very welcoming and we all loved the fact that we were in another building meeting lots of new interesting people and dancers.
After that we had our performance in their beautiful theatre which included works from NSCD students followed by our Improvisation, Emilee's Putsche solo and Jeremy Nelson's piece. It was a great day and we all left full of excitement!
Then, over the weekend the group that stayed in London performed for the Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) and GCSE students of The Place. The students seemed to enjoy their workshops lead by Jenna Broas, Katie Neal, Ricardo Dasilva, Alex Gotch, Simea Cavelti and Paige Jackson and they created very interesting pieces that they then shared with the rest of LC3. During our Q&A with the CAT students we had the chance to answer a lot of interesting questions. And the day ended with the question: “Was it fun?” To which the overwhelming response was “YES!”
Today (Monday 12 May) we visited the Samuel Rhodes School which is a primary in Islington. After the performance the students were asked to describe what they saw. Some of the answers included; “fabulous”, “incredible”, “exciting” and “amazing”.
Another group of LC3 students was also at the Brit School today running dance workshops for the students there, which was a lot of fun.
Seven more venues to visit by the end of May.
That's all for now!
