We want young people living and learning in Camden to connect with The Place and to explore and enjoy dance as makers, performers & viewers. In academic year 2016-17 we piloted an exciting new project to Get Camden Dancing through partnering with four primary schools to help us realise our vision.
"I have learned so much as a teacher about how to teach and plan dance. Thank you. This experience, in addition to our staff training, has really increased my confidence to teach dance." Year 2 teacher
Through the generous support of John Lyon’s Charity, we’re going to be growing our Partner schools programme over the next three years.Partner Schools in our home borough can access a range of activities for their learners and teachers in one discounted package. School leaders and teachers can decide how the provision is shared across the school to meet their own needs.
The Partner School package costs £950 (+VAT) and in 2017-18 it includes:
As an incentive to develop a long-term partnership, and with an awareness of planned changes to the school funding, we will reduce the charge to each Partner School by at least £50 per year for each subsequent consecutive year you continue with the programme. As you’ll be aware, the activity in any one year of the partnership would act as evidence for multiple criteria of an Artsmark application, and the continuation of the partnership would also enhance any application for the higher levels of the award.
