As an organisation, The Place is involved in the entire lifecycle of dance – from education and training to the creative process that leads to new ideas and conception of new work, through to its creation, production and performance.
The Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) is part of a national intensive dance programme for 11-18 year olds who display exceptional potential and passion for dance. This is one of a national network of centres created to improve the training of young dancers. This scheme was set up by the Department for Education in 2004 and is managed by the Music and Dance Scheme (MDS).
The post is offered as a 12-month traineeship. The trainee will complete a training needs analysis and a structure a workplan for the period of the traineeship to achieve agreed developmental goals and will be involved in all areas of this department including but not limited to administration, marketing and assisting in classes.
