Open Days 2020: 

11 Feb, Ages 14-16 years: 5:30pm - 8pm

12 Feb, Ages 10-13 years: 5:30pm - 8pm

29 Feb, Ages 14 - 16 years: 2:30pm - 5:00pm 

29 Feb, Ages 10 - 13 years: 12:15pm - 2:45pm 

These Open Days offer an insight into what CAT, at The Place, is all about. Starting with a contemporary technique class, followed by getting those brains in gear with fun creative session. Shortly after there will be a tour of The Place and a chance to meet the CAT team with a Q&A session, where you can ask questions about about the CAT course, our audition process and anything else.

How to apply for the CAT Scheme:

Auditions for the Centre for Advanced Training are by application only. 

The application for 2020 entry on to the programme will open on Mon 2 Mar 2020. The deadline is Fri 24 Apr 2020 12 noon. 

Audition dates for 2020 entry are:

Sat 2 May 

Sat 9 May 

Sat 16 May 

Recall Audition: Sat 13 June 2020 

All applicants are required to submit a completed online application form along with a headshot before they are invited to an audition/interview. Full audition/interview details will be sent to applicants within two weeks of receiving their completed application form.

Making your application

Register with the website: Once you have done this you will be able to log out and return to your application at any point to continue with your application. If you do not have an account, you will be redirected to the registration page.

Log in and complete the online application form: The form is spread across four separate steps. At each step you must submit your details in order to save it.

Once you have completed all four steps you will have the opportunity to review and edit any of the details you have saved before confirming your application. You can log in later to amend an incomplete application via this page. Every section of the form should be completed as fully as possible in English.

Once you have confirmed your application you will be redirected to the homepage where it will say “Your application has been saved!”

You will be allocated an audition date by email (please be aware this may take up to 2 weeks).

No previous dance experience is necessary but we do look for energy, commitment, potential and a passion for learning contemporary dance.
