Torn apart by flames. Rebuilding in the ashes. A city, divided, too often devastated, silently holds us. We come and go, our transient encounters non-binding, but in tragedy, we know where we stand. This new work for the 45 dancers of the London Contemporary Dance School third year explores community - thriving, surviving, grieving, rebuilding - in a unique immersive performance in the heart of the city. Created in just three weeks, Until We Stand combines new choreography created in collaboration with the dancers with extracts from Cousins’ acclaimed repertoire and sets it to a pulsing soundtrack capturing the sound of London.
