Do you write about dance? Would you like to have your reviews published?
Resolution is the UK’s biggest dance festival for emerging artists running from Thursday 9 January – Saturday 22 February 2020 at The Place in central London. During the festival, Resolution Review offers non-professional writers with a love for dance and live performance the chance to see and review three new works per night, be mentored by professional dance writers and have their reviews published alongside the professional’s review on The Place’s blog.
Writers must be able to commit to reviewing a minimum of 4 nights across the festival. Previous participants in this programme have gone on to be regular writers for publications including The Stage, Time Out, London Dance, Exeunt, Dance Tabs, and Dancing Times and several have set up their own successful blogs.
We are now recruiting 6 aspiring dance reviewers for Resolution 2020. You don't need to be a technical dance expert. We're simply looking for excellent writers who can communicate their responses honestly and in a way that makes people want to read, watch, listen and get engaged. The successful applicants will be mentored by our team of professionals and will have access to a seminar providing opportunities to ask questions around current working practices.
How to apply:
To be one of this year’s Resolution Reviewers all you need to do is send a sample review (max 300 words) by 10am, Monday 25 November to Suzanne Frost, Press Manager Suzanne.Frost@theplace.org.uk
