Responding to the specific challenges brought on by the pandemic, 101 Outdoor Arts and The Place, in partnership with DanceXchange producers of Birmingham International Dance Festival, have joined forces to host Dance & The Outdoors symposium, a two day digital conference to shine a spotlight on the wealth of outdoor dance practice and explore how this distinctive yet diverse field is contributing to the development of dance – bringing new audiences, new approaches and creating interventions that transform and disrupt our relationship with the world around us.
This symposium includes keynote speeches, panel discussions and interactive workshops and is aimed at dance and outdoor performance professionals, students and recent graduates.
With insights from speakers such as Rosemary Lee, Luca Silvestrini, Jeanefer Jean Charles, Satchie Noro, Stopgap and many more, the symposium will look at a range of practice in locations from urban to rural and in contexts that cover touring to site-specific to participant-led.
The event is FREE but booking is essential via the Birmingham International Dance Festival Website
