The Place receives award from John Ellerman Foundation for Producing and Touring

The Place is delighted to have been awarded a grant of £150,000 over three years from John Ellerman Foundation to support our ground-breaking Producing and Touring Programme.

This is the largest single grant for commissions that The Place has ever received in its 52-year history and this significant endorsement of our Producing &Touring programme will only serve to push us further in our commitment to support a diverse range of the most exciting independent dance artists.

This funding will be transformative, not just for the difference it will make to the work of the artists and their ability to develop, create and tour their work to audiences nationally, but to the sector through the development of a distinct new model for the touring landscape.

Eddie Nixon, Artistic Director of The Place says

“It’s very exciting to have the backing of John Ellerman Foundation for the Producing & Touring programme. It’s a huge endorsement of the direction of travel of this area of our work. They are supporting our ambition, and our commitment to support a plurality of creative voices and to tour into a range of spaces and places across the UK, from village halls to midscale theatres.”
