The Place Partnership Programme

A major joint initiative between The Place and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance achieves the development of outreach and partnership provision with regional organisations in the South East Region:

  • Hot House Dance, Hertfordshire (Partner: The Place)
  • South East Dance, Brighton (Partner: The Place)
  • The Brook Theatre, Chatham, Kent with Loop Dance Company (Partner: Laban)
  • The Point in Eastleigh, Hampshire (Partner: The Place)
  • University Centre Folkestone with Loop Dance Company (Partner: Laban/Find Your Talent)

The Partnership Programme, supported by the Centre for Advanced Training at The Place, offers unique intensive training over a period of eight months and sees successful candidates taking part in a course of contemporary dance technique classes led by a professional choreographer, the opportunity to attend an open day at The Place and the chance to develop a piece for performance in the Centre for Advanced Training annual summer show at The Robin Howard Theatre amongst other local performance opportunities.

The initiative hopes to raise the profile and awareness of the opportunities offered through the Centres for Advanced Training and build stronger links with schools, artists and arts organisations outside of London. Our work in the region will also include continued professional development opportunities for artists and dance teachers in the South East and where possible ensure that all the young people taking part are signposted to local dance activities.

Entry to the Partnership Programme is by audition only.
