About

Creative Learning Partnerships

At The Place we are passionate about learning. The Creative Learning Partnerships (CLP)  team is responsible for developing innovative education and engagement projects for both in and beyond The Place. Our work focuses on collaboration, the sharing knowledge and expertise and exploring new ways in which dance and movement can enrich learning and help change lives.

CLP’s work includes:

The team also write dance resource materials, such as the DanceQuest teacher’s book for the Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts and the MOKO Dance Toolkit. We have also co-produced films of Richard Alston’s work, as well as the digital resource The Alston Studio.

In 2012 we commissioned filmmaker and animator Magali Charrier to observe public dance classes at The Place and create an exhibition/installation How My Hand Got to Know My Feet based on what she saw. More recently we commissioned Magali again, and dance writer and journalist, Sanjoy Roy, to create Planet Dance, an accessible introduction to contemporary dance in the form of 4 short online films.
