Carla’s friendly and encouraging classes will combine ballet and contemporary styles through fun creative exercises and dynamic movement. Throughout the course participants will explore and play with both contemporary and ballet vocabulary and experience the benefits of these two distinctive styles of dance. Accompanied by live piano, classes will start with getting the body moving freely, playing with elements of improvisation, focusing on breathing, articulating and mobilising different parts of the body. Exercises at the barre and in the centre will focus on developing strength and the correct use of muscles and alignment.

Class description:

This 10 week course is recommended for students who have a basic knowledge of ballet or contemporary. You will recap the key principles of ballet and contemporary, whilst developing your movement vocabulary; defining placement of the body and increased self-awareness when moving. The course will increase your understanding of technique, allowing you to build the confidence to progress to Level 1.
