Julian teaches an energising and enjoyable class with a warm and encouraging approach. With a range of exercises at the barre and in the centre, students will develop their basic technique and build up to longer combinations. Drawing from his performance and choreographic experience, Julian explores with his students how the movement can be ‘performed’, with an emphasis on dynamics and musicality.

Artist’s biography:

Julian graduated from Trinity Laban in 2013 and went on to complete a UK and international tour as a member of EDge, the postgraduate dance company of London Contemporary Dance School. Whilst with EDge, he performed in several works by renowned choreographers including Ben Wright, Trisha Brown, Yael Flexer, Joe Moran and Idan Cohen. Julian has since worked with several choreographers and companies, performing at venues including the Royal Opera House, The Place, Royal Albert Hall and New Wimbledon Theatre. Currently company dancer and rehearsal co-ordinator for Wales-based Ffin Dance, Julian has toured several works and taken a leading role in education and outreach projects. As a teacher and choreographer, Julian works regularly for Greenwich Leisure Limited and DSP Performing and is Artistic Co-Director of Traceworks Dance.
