Matt’s approach to floor work investigates the mechanical processes within the body, with the aim of finding smooth transitions to and from the floor. These engaging sessions will also focus on developing individuals approach to moving and performing confidently. All phrases and exercises delivered have a variety of alternate moves for different levels and individuals movement styles.

Artist’s biography:

Matt began his professional training at the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance and after graduating Matt joined EDge 11. After graduating Matt has worked both nationally and internationally with Jorge Crecis, John Ross, Caroline Bowditch, Dam Van Huynh, Nuno Siva and Nathan Johnston. Matt has been teaching since 2011 and has worked for London Contemporary Dance School, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Laban, The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance, and Central School of Ballet. Matt has taught Company Class for Phoenix Dance Theatre.

Class description:

Open Level is suitable for anyone who has had over a years’ experience in either contemporary dance or ballet. Championing personal development, the focus in this class is less on technique and more on the individual quality and style of movement.
