Class Description

Luke teaches a dynamic released-based class which is informed by improvisation and somatic practices. Usually beginning with improvisation/experiential anatomy, he then explores set exercises and sequences to develop bodily organisation and connectivity. As well as technical challenges, a sense of dynamic versatility, a playful questioning and finding both clarity and spontaneity are encouraged.

The class is accompanied by musician Bobby Demers.


Level Information

• Recommended if you have over 3 years contemporary experience
• Developing your technical knowledge and increase performativity 
• Increasing physicality including core strength and balance, allowing for greater movement efficiency
• Focus on musicality and working with different tempos and counts


About Luke

Luke began his training at Northern School of Contemporary Dance and completed his BA (Hons) at Laban in 2008. Luke has performed for Dog Kennel Hill Project, Punch Drunk International and Rosemary Lee. He has also participated in a restaging of Yvonne Rainer’s Trio A and worked on visual art projects for National Art Galleries. Luke has a passion for teaching and has taught across the UK and Europe.
