The Place Marketing Manager (Touring)

The Place, London’s creative powerhouse for dance development, has been leading the way in dance training, creation and performance for 50 years. The Place is seeking a dynamic and passionate Marketing Manager (Touring) to join our growing communications team to take the lead in promoting a large portfolio of dance on tour and the work of The Place as a growing producing house. 

The Marketing Manager (Touring) will play a vital role in leading all touring marketing campaigns, nurturing existing and developing new relationships with venues of varying shapes and sizes across the UK, ensuring the messaging of each tour is tailored to the company whilst representing The Place’s values and brand. This is a new area of work for The Place shaping how The Place communicates with new audiences beyond London.  

Projects that the Marketing Manager (touring) would be working on in 2020/21 include:

  • A programme at the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2021
  • Shows by artists including Protein, Requardt & Rosenberg, Lost Dog, Avant Garde Dance, Sivan Rubinstein and Jamaal Burkmar. 
  • Stomping Ground (an outdoor commissioning partnership with Greenwich & Docklands International Festival, DanceXchange and DanceEast)
  • The Rural Touring Dance Initiative (a partnership with National Rural Touring Forum, Take Art & China Plate)
  • EDGE tour (London Contemporary Dance School’s postgraduate touring company)

We are looking for a confident collaborator with excellent organisational, budget management and communication and interpersonal skills. You should have experience of marketing management in theatre and/or dance campaigns, social media marketing strategy, working with targets, and a flair for design with excellent attention to detail. Salary: £29,970 per annum rising to £30,570 per annum upon completion of the six-month probationary period.
