On this page you will find all the latest information regarding The Place’s activity as we start to re-open the building in accordance with the government’s latest guidance and roadmap.

Is The Place open?

The Place is now open for public activity. We currently have summer dance courses in our studios - information here - and our Theatre performance programme and our Classes and Courses programme will begin in September with in-person events. Our cafe and theatre bar remain closed but we have re-opened our box office. The box office will be open for in-person or telephone bookings from Tuesday to Friday between midday and 5pm.

We are maintaining some of our covid measures over the summer and into autumn such as mask wearing in communal areas, additional cleaning, visitor check-in on entry and reduced capacities across our spaces.   For more information please email

Can I attend classes?

Yes, our summer dance course information can be found here and we plan to return to our term time in-person classes and courses from September and information can be found here.

We also have pre-recorded classes available to introduce you to the fundamental principles of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, and Dancing all over The Place, a creative dance series for children aged 6-10 years. Click here to find out more.

Can I see performances?

Yes you can! We are excited to return to our theatre with a regular season beginning with our Korean Festival. Details are available here

Please note that we are continuing with some of our covid-secure measures such as mask wearing during your visit, socially-distanced seating and a venue check-in option.

You can sign up to our mailing list to be notified of our innovative offers here or follow us on our social channels to keep in the loop.

Can I hire the building/studios?

We continue to take hires throughout the week but, to remain covid-secure, our capacities have changed, and we have introduced additional health and safety measures. We are asking hirers to provide us with a risk assessment or method statement detailing how they are keeping their studio users safe.

If you wish to discuss booking, please contact our Visitor Services team on to discuss your plans.

Is your bar / café open? Can I use the building to have meetings?

We are open to all hires however, some covid measures remain in place and may affect how your hire would function.

What is happening in the building in general?

We are in our quieter Summer period, and our London Contemporary Dance School students have returned home.  Our studios are busy with artists who are part of our Choreodrome residency programme however, and spaces remain open for hire for rehearsals, research and filming.

For any other questions, contact us via our social media channels or email Eleanor Farrow, Visitor Service Manager.
