Enjoy your first steps into dance in these relaxed and informative sessions for absolute beginners. Participants will be guided through the basics, providing an insight into our regular eleven week Ballet Introduction courses.
This fun and inspirational course will guide students through the key principles, providing a sound knowledge of the basic classical technique and movement vocabulary. Sessions will focus on posture and correct placement of the body, whilst building student’s coordination and confidence in moving.
Nicola’s teaching style reflects her background as a professional dancer and training as a dance scientist. In a positive and encouraging atmosphere she endeavours to achieve a balance between technique and performance; ensuring her students understand their own physiques to optimise technical execution, help prevent injury, and give them the confidence and freedom to perform to the best of their abilities.
This course will run from Monday 15 – Friday 19 August, 10am – 11.30am each day.
The course fee of £65 covers all five classes.
Nicola trained at Central School of Ballet in London under the direction of Christopher Gable. She has taught classical ballet, pointe work and repertoire in various vocational and pre-vocational colleges across London, including Central School of Ballet, Trinity Laban, London Studio Centre, Cecchetti Associates and Transitions Dance Company. She currently teaches at D&B Academy of Performing Arts and the Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) at The Place.
