These classes are for students who hold a basic understanding in contemporary or ballet and would like to develop their skills; building confidence, improving technique and increasing dance vocabulary.
This is a high-energy fun class, focused on getting participants moving freely and with confidence. Classes comprise of a variety of exercises at the barre, enabling students to warm muscles and mobilise joints whilst refining and developing technique. The class continues with combinations in the centre, culminating with allegros and travelling sequences across the floor.
This class is not suitable for beginners. Please note that this class is very popular. To avoid disappointment we advise you to enrol for the term or purchase a Carnet Card, which will allow you to book your place in advance. Alternatively, if you are only able to drop into the class, please book online from 12pm on the day to secure your place.
Denzil Bailey trained at the West London School of Dance in Covent Garden. He has danced with several classical dance companies including English National Ballet, The London Ballet Company and Ballet Black. His performing credits include work with Mark Baldwin and Soul in Motion on their European tour and also in operas such as Carmen, Aida and Orpheus in the Underworld. Denzil is co-founder and ballet master with Ballet Black, guest teacher at Rambert and Tavaziva Dance and as a freelance teacher has also worked with Billy Elliot The Musical, Millennium Performing Arts and as a guest teacher at Colombo Dance Factory in Zurich. Denzil is also a regular weekly teacher at Pineapple in London and Danceworks Studios London.
