This new production by award-winning choreographer Ben Duke and composer Orlando Gough has grown from a three year creative intervention in London’s stroke community by Rosetta Life – an innovative arts-in-health charity committed to enabling voice and agency for the frail and disabled. A daring movement and song project performed by an ensemble of people living with the effects of a stroke Stroke Odysseys explores intertwined journeys of recovery from stroke and asks how we ever recover from brain injury or how we remember who we are.
The performance is supported by a panel discussion with dancers, musicians, neurologists and neuroscientists including Ben Duke, Orlando Gough, Chris Thompson and Professor Nick Ward (UCL Institute of Neurology) who will discuss how dance and song can impact the brain's ability to heal itself. The discussion is free to attend.
