Dena will draw on her extensive work with Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures Company, where she performed in Edward Scissorhands, Cinderella, Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty. Dancers can look forward to a creative workshop that will introduce them to jazz, contemporary and improvisational techniques, combining these into a creative experience to express storytelling through movement.

Movement Director, Choreographer, Performer
After completing her training Dena went to dance for Matthew Bourne taking on roles including Ferral and Flossie in Sleeping Beauty; Cupid and Marshmallow in the Nutcracker; and Betty and Mabel in Cinderella. She also worked as an Assistant to the Tour Director of Lord of the Flies. She co-choreographed Something Inside So Strong for Arcola Theatre with direction by Viv Berry, words by Danny Braverman, and lyrics by Labi Siffre (2016). As movement director she has worked for Samling's production of L'Enfant et les Sortileges, Sage Gateshead (2015) and director Emma Rivlin on operatic productions that include Belshazzar, Trinity Laban, the Grimebourne Season Arcola Theatre and the first UK staging of Fiesque in association with UCLU, Bloomsbury Theatre. Dena co-choreographed Walk The Talk for Wales National Youth Dance Company (2004). She has created and performed Impromptu with saxophonist Andrew Worthy, The Dome in Brighton. She was assistant Artistic Director for JazzXchange Music & Dance Company (2004) and performed with the company in the original production of Lucky For Some with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Barbican (2004). Dena was a featured dancer in the film Mrs Henderson Presents directed by Stephen Frears (2005). Dena is currently an associate lecturer at Chichester University, a faculty member at Legat School of Contemporary Dance and Ballet and a certified Body Control Matwork Pilates Instructor.
