Ingrid’s contemporary jazz classes focus on developing a strong basic technique that enables the dancer to be free in performance. This technique is based in traditional jazz influenced by ballet, modern and African. Through jazz and contemporary based progressions and challenging combinations, the dancer will focus on layering and embodying dynamics and musicality.
Level 2-3: A challenging class for intermediate/advanced students competent in contemporary. This class is designed to expand your knowledge and performance skills, working further on facility, versatility and the dynamics of movement phrasing.
Ingrid’s passion for dance creates a positive dance environment guaranteed to leave you energized!
This course will run from Monday 1 – Friday 5 August, 4-5.30pm each day.
The course fee of £65 covers all 5 classes.
Ingrid Mackinnon is a London based professional dancer and teacher. Originally hailing from Toronto, Canada she has performed in contemporary concert dance, film, music videos, cruise ships, opera and the West End. She has worked with choreographers such as Christopher Huggins, Milton Myers, Jessica Lang, Garth Fagan, George Momboye, Fergus Early, Vicki Igbokwe, Sheron Wray, Alesandra Seutin and Bawren Tavaziva. Ingrid danced with Dallas Black Dance Theater and her UK performance credits include Tavaziva Dance, Disney’s The Lion King (West End), Royal Opera House, English National Opera, Green Candle Dance Company and Uchenna Dance.
Ingrid has a BA in Kinesiology from Western University, is a qualified STOTT matwork and reformer Pilates instructor and currently studying her MA in Movement: Directing & Teaching at Central School of Speech and Drama. Combined with many years of practical body knowledge, Ingrid began her STOTT Pilates teacher training in 2013 at YMCAfit in London completing qualifications in Matwork and Reformer. Ingrid also holds a BA in Kinesiology from Western University.
